Pop star Taylor Swift reportedly is dating English actor Joe Alwyn, star of the film “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.”
People magazine, citing British media, said Wednesday that the “Bad Blood” and “Wildest Dreams” singer, 27, has been seeing Alwyn, who is in his mid-20s, for an unspecified length of time. Ten-time Grammy Award-winner Swift — the world’s highest-earning musician in 2016, according to Forbes’ annual list — has largely been out of the spotlight since February, the magazine noted.
The British newspaper The Sun reported that Swift has been spending time in London, disguising herself by wearing a wig in an attempt to keep the budding romance a secret.
A Swift fan site in November ran images of the singer with her mother, Andrea, and singer sisters Este and Alana Haim at the ArcLight theater in Hollywood, captioned, “Taylor saw a screening of Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk with Mama Swift and Este and Alana Haim last night!”
Alwyn was cast in the titular starring role of Ang Lee’s “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk” while a final-year student at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, University of London. Born in North London, the son of a psychotherapist mother and a documentary-filmmaker father, he went on to appear in the drama “The Sense of an Ending” and was cast opposite Gerard Butler in the psychological thriller “Keepers,” which was shooting last month. He will play Emma Stone’s love interest in the upcoming period drama “The Favourite.”
Swift and Scottish DJ Calvin Harris broke up in mid-2016 after being together since March the year before. On the one-year anniversary of their relationship, Swift posted an Instagram photo of an engraved, heart-shaped locket bearing the date 3-6-2015.
She went on to a high-profile romance with Emmy Award-nominee Tom Hiddleston, who plays the Norse god Loki in Marvel Cinematic Universe films. They were first seen together publicly last May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Gala. Reports of their amicable breakup surfaced in early September.
