Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, 22, a friend of the Kennedy family through documentary filmmaker Rory Kennedy, reportedly has broken up with Rory's nephew, 18-year-old high-school senior Conor Kennedy.
Us Weekly said the two, who began dating this summer, have not seen each other for more than a month and that the breakup, which occurred in the interim, was a gradual result of Swift's workload.
The singer has been busy doing promotion for her fourth studio album, "Red," which was released Monday to positive reviews. It was on track to sell more than a million copies this week, which would make Swift the first woman to have two consecutive million-selling debuts since Nielsen SoundScan began reporting sales in 1991.
Swift and Kennedy -- son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the late Mary Kennedy, and grandson of the late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy -- were seen together at Marcella's Pizza in his hometown of Mount Kisco, N.Y., on July 25, and walked out hand-in-hand, People magazine said at the time.
On Aug. 18, the two showed up uninvited at a Boston wedding reception for Kennedy's cousin, Kyle and groom Liam Kerry.
That same month, People reported that the Nashville-based Swift bought a house in Hyannis Port, Mass., across the street from Kennedy's grandmother, Ethel. An area Realtor told TMZ Thursday that the transaction is still not scheduled to close for two weeks.
