'The Miz' goes from 'Real World' to wrestling champ

From the "Real World," to the not-so-real one.

Former MTV reality show star Mike "The Miz" Mizanin achieved his boyhood dream when he won the World Wrestling Entertainment championship at a live televised event in Orlando, Fla., Monday night.

Mizanin, 30, was a cast member of the 10th season of "The Real World," which was taped in Manhattan and aired in 2001.

Mizanin made his passion for the fantastical world of professional wrestling well-known to his housemates on the show.

Mizanin joined WWE in 2004 after placing second in the company's own reality show, "Tough Enough" to create a new wrestling star. He rose through the ranks to become one of WWE's most reviled antagonists, boasting the catch phrase, "I'm The Miz, and I'm awesome."

Mizanin beat Randy Orton in the main event of USA's "Monday Night Raw" to win wrestling's most prestigious title - the same championship won by the likes of Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogan, and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.
