Actor-comedian Tommy Chong is battling cancer.

"I've had some medical issues lately," Chong told Us Weekly at an event in Santa Monica, California, on Tuesday night, explaining, "I got diagnosed with rectal cancer."

Chong, 77, half of the comedy duo Cheech and Chong and a former cast member of "That '70s Show," said he had found relief from prostate cancer in 2012 by using marijuana.

"I'm using cannabis like crazy now, more so than ever before," he told Us. "I'm in treatment now. ... Either I get healed or I don't. But either way, I'm going to make sure I get a little edge off. .... "
