Chris Brown's temper has gotten the best of him once again, according to police reports.
The singer, 24, was arrested and charged with felony assault around 4:30 a.m. Saturday morning after a fight broke out outside the W Hotel in Washington D.C., District of Columbia police spokesman Paul Metcalf said. Brown's bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, 35, was also arrested.
Both men are in custody until Monday, Metcalf said. TMZ reports that police said Brown did not appear to be intoxicated at the time.
Police said the victim of the assault, an unidentified adult male, was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries and was released early Sunday afternoon.
Brown was in town to host a "Homecoming Weekend" party at nightclub The Park at Fourteenth. "What's up DMV! I'm hosting the Biggest Homecoming Party in DC TONIGHT," he tweeted on Saturday. Howard University is celebrating homecoming this weekend, but spokeswoman Kerry-Ann Hamilton said the party was not affiliated with the school.
He is still on probation for assaulting on-again, off-again girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, a crime for which he was forced to do community service and complete a domestic violence course.
Brown seemed to clean up his act until earlier this year, when he was accused of not completing his hours of service and then was involved in a minor hit-and-run car accident in Los Angeles over the summer.
He is due back in court in Los Angeles Nov. 20 to update a judge on his probation. This arrest could result in revocation of his probation and additional penalties, including jail time, but it is not yet clear how prosecutors will proceed.
