The filings seek to establish a court guardian to representLedger's 3-year-old daughter, Matilda Rose, who is the policy'sbeneficiary. An attorney has requested a closed hearing for latenext month.
An attorney for Ledger sued ReliaStar Life Insurance Co. lastyear, claiming the company was refusing to pay the actor's deathbenefits. The attorney claimed the insurer was refusing to paybecause it wanted to investigate whether Ledger's death was asuicide.
A coroner ruled Ledger's death last January was from anaccidental prescription drug overdose.
Calls to attorneys handling the case weren't immediatelyreturned Thursday.
