Carrie Underwood leads the pack of country music performers up for this year's CMT Awards. The season 4 "American Idol" champ scored five nominations, including two for video of the year, two for female video and one for collaborative video.
The members of Lady Antebellum, who announced the nominees yesterday morning on "The Today Show," are close behind Underwood with four nominations. Kenny Chesney also racked up four nods each, and Miranda Lambert earned three.
Several non-country-music singers who performed duets with country artists on CMT programs are contenders in the performance of the year category including Katy Perry, John Legend and Aloe Blacc.
The awards will air live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on CMT on June 10. Fans can vote at cmt.com for their favorites until June 8.
