Hollywood Life: Ellie Goulding denies she dated Ed Sheeran

Ellie Goulding wants to set the record straight about the rumors that she "cheated" on Ed Sheeran by having an affair with One Direction's Niall Horan.

"I did go on a few dates with Niall, but I was never in a relationship with Ed," Goulding, 28, said in Elle UK's July issue. "I have absolutely no idea where that came from and why it was turned into such a big thing."

The "Lights" singer added that she found it upsetting that women in Hollywood are constantly defined by the men they've dated, a topic she often talks about with her friend Taylor Swift.

"It's like, you can be a great artist, you can write great songs, but the thing that everyone is going to talk about is some relationship they think you have had or not had," Goulding said. "It's definitely something we both think happens to female artists over male artists."

Sheeran, 24, had said of fellow English singer Goulding in 2013 that they indeed had dated.

After the two were seen holding hands at that year's MTV Video Music Awards in Brooklyn, Sheeran confirmed the rumors during an interview with a Seattle-area radio station 10 days after the event. "I mean, normal people don't hold hands if they're just friends," Sheeran said. "It was going on and now it's not."

Goulding had implied in a tweet, without going into specifics, that holding hands with a friend didn't mean romance. "In that case, I am in many relationships," she wrote.

Willis' 'Dancing' art

On Tuesday, Rumer Willis posted an Instagram pic of her latest arm tattoo, which depicts a couple ballroom dancing. The ink artwork is meant to commemorate her "Dancing With the Stars" win last month.

Willis, 26, wrote: "The value and love you have for yourself can only come from within and I am so grateful to have had such an incredible experience to help me understand that."
