After surprising Kanye West by renting out the Staples Center in Los Angeles for his 38th birthday bash on Monday, wife Kim Kardashian had another lavish gift waiting at home: She had construction started on a basketball court in their backyard.
It turns out the Staples Center party was a distraction, and while the couple were there, Kardashian, 34, had construction crews begin stage one of the home project, according to TMZ.com.
The website reports that the new basketball center will be 7,000 square feet and will also include a "glam room."
For West's extravagant party, Kardashian gathered his closest friends together for an East vs. West basketball game at the Staples Center. John Legend sang "Happy Birthday."
Paul Feig, director of the upcoming female version of "Ghostbusters," announced Wednesday on Twitter that Chris Hemsworth has joined the cast. Feig posted a picture of Hemsworth captioned "Our receptionist. #whoyougonnacall." Hemsworth will take on the role played by Annie Potts in the 1984 original.
According to Variety, the Australian actor had originally passed on one of the film's male roles because it was too small. Sony Pictures reportedly reworked the script and juiced up the receptionist role for the 31-year-old star, who is known for his roles in "Thor" and "Snow White and the Huntsman."
