"The Hunger Games" won't come out until next March 23, but the advertising campaign is already upon us.
Above is a newly released motion poster from Lionsgate that turns an oft-repeated phrase in Suzanne Collins' young-adult novel, "May the odds be ever in your favor," into a tagline for the film. The ominous music and the fiery motif suggest that the movie will likely hew to the dark tone of the book.
What's a motion poster, you may ask? It's basically an even shorter version of a teaser, squeezed into a poster-style format and disseminated mostly on the Web. Kind of like those almost-alive newspaper pictures in the "Potter" movies. The motion poster for "The Hunger Games" will also appear this weekend on digital screens in theaters and some malls.
