Though there is still no official confirmation from Beyoncé or Jay-Z on the birth of their daughter, a song he posted on his website Monday gives some insight.
In the song, "Glory," posted Monday, Jay-Z raps about "the most beautiful girl in the world" and goes on to say "You're my child of a child from Destiny's Child." A baby's crying can be heard on the track as Jay-Z talks about "daddy's little girl."
Jay-Z also reveals in the song that the couple had a miscarriage before the birth of their daughter. He says: "Last time the miscarriage was so tragic. We was afraid you'd disappear. But nah baby you magic."
Reports have been swirling since Saturday night that Beyoncé gave birth to a baby girl, named Blue Ivy Carter. The baby arrived via a scheduled Caesarean section, according to the E News.
Jay-Z also references the baby's rumored name in song saying "Maybe I paint the sky blue. My greatest creation was you.”
"Good Morning America" reported on Monday that B checked into Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan to deliver Blue Ivy, and the couple paid $1.3 million to rent out the fourth floor of the hospital.
People magazine speculated that the couple chose to name their daughter Ivy to represent the Roman numeral IV, or four. Beyoncé has openly discussed her connection to the number, explaining in a recent documentary that she was born on Sept. 4, Jay-Z was born on Dec. 4 and the two married on April 4.
Many of the couple's famous friends hopped on Twitter to congratulate the pair on the new addition to their family.
"Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih," Rihanna posted.
Russell Simmons also chimed in: "Congrats to my good friends Beyoncé and Jay-Z."
