Description:
The 1820 Victorian style house with turn-of-the-century furnishings boasts a kitchen with a cast iron stove and one of the first coal hot water heaters and ice boxes manufactured. There is a chicken coop with farm and hand tools displayed, a 2-seater out house, water pump, and herb gardens in the yard. Baby pictures of children born in South Side Hospital from 1956-1968 (are available free). The Glass Plate Photography of Martin J. Anderson, Bay Shore's first professional photographer, 1880's to 1931; 100's of historical photographs, Bay Shore memorabilia and movie posters on display; Tues. and Sat. 2-4 p.m.. Historical reference library (Bay Shore area) available.
