At the museum, which includes a working boatyard, you can see 19th century clam boats, an oyster sloop and gear, associated with everything from whaling to sportfishing.

Focus is on Long Island's maritime history, including yachting, shipbuilding, fishing and the Great South Bay oyster industry. Displays include restored oyster vessels, sailboats, oyster shacks and a turn-of-the-century bayman's cottage, plus exhibits on the old U.S. Life Saving Service; 1888 oyster sloop Priscilla is on display (on which public and private sails are available)
