Long Island's three theaters that operate with Actors Equity union contracts have started or just announced their new seasons. Here's what's up this summer at Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor, Gateway Playhouse in Bellport and Patchogue and the John W. Engeman Theater at Northport beginning in July and running through the spring of 2014.

"Lend Me a Tenor" A mistaken-identity farce by Ken Ludwig about a touring production of "Othello" arriving in Cleveland. Through June 23.

"The Mystery of Irma Vep" A cross-dressing send-up of film noir classics from the late Charles Ludlam's Ridiculous Theatrical Company. July 2-28.

"A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" Roman Empire musical farce boasts a creative A team: Burt Shrevelove and Larry Gelbart (book) and Stephen Sondheim (music and lyrics). Aug. 6-Sept. 1).

All shows at the theater on Long Wharf, Sag Harbor; 631-725-9500,

"Grease" The pop movie musical that made Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta seem so hip in the '70s. Was high school ever really like that? Through June 8.

"Young Frankenstein" Based on the Mel Brooks horror-flick takeoff, set to music for Broadway. June 12-29.

"Legends in Concert" A Vegas-style spectacle starring impersonators of Elvis, Barbra Streisand, Liza Minnelli, Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder and Neil Diamond. July 2-20.

"Singin' in the Rain" Still another movie-inspired musical -- this one starring Gene Kelly. Remember? Music by Betty Comden and Adoph Green. July 24-Aug. 10.

"Ballroom With a Twist" See performances by contestants from "Dancing With the Stars," "So You Think You Can Dance" and "American Idol." Aug. 13-18.

"Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story." "Peggy Sue" and more by the kid who some thought could rival Elvis if he ditched the eyeglasses. Aug. 28-Sept-14.

At 215 South Country Rd., Bellport, except for "Singin' in the Rain" and "Ballroom With a Twist," which play at Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts, 71 E. Main St., Patchogue; 631-286-1133,

"Nunsense" The Little Sisters of Hoboken have just suffered a mass accidental poisoning and the survivors are throwing a musical fundraiser to bury the bodies. Funnier than it sounds. July 25-Sept. 8.

"Twelve Angry Men." You're in the jury room for deliberations in a murder case in which an Spanish-American is charged. Only one juror holds out for the accused. Classic drama by Reginald Rose. Sept. 19-Nov. 3.

"Irving Berlin's White Christmas" The Broadway remake of the Bing Crosby movies -- "Holiday Inn" and "White Christmas" -- that showcased the all-time hit title song. Nov. 21-Jan. 5.

"Other Desert Cities" The taut family drama by Jon Robin Baitz centering around a once-promising novelist was a recent Tony nominee for best play. Long Island premiere. Jan. 23-March 9.

"Plaza Suite" Neil Simon's triptych of romantic comedy shorts set in the iconic Manhattan hotel. May 29-July 13, 2014.
