THE DEAL The reggae icon is the subject of a documentary, "Marley," from Oscar-winning director Kevin Macdonald ("The Last King of Scotland"). The film, which features interviews with Marley's surviving family members and reggae heavyweights like Bunny Wailer and Junior Marvin, premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and the SXSW Film Festival. It will be released theatrically and through video on demand on April 20, a date whose coded significance will resonate with Marley's herb-loving fans.

THE MOVIE "Trainspotting"

THE DEAL Danny Boyle's frenetically funny 1996 film about heroin abuse -- starring Ewan McGregor as a roguish addict and Kelly Macdonald as an underage schoolgirl, will become a topic of serious scientific discussion when professors Anne Churchland and Rob Martienssen of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory show up for next week's screening. They'll explain how addiction can affect cognitive function and may even result in "epigenetic changes in the brain."

THE MOVIE "Dolphin Boy"

THE DEAL In this Israeli documentary, a young boy from an Arab village in northern Israel recovers emotionally from a violent attack through an unusual method: dolphin therapy. Producer Judith Manassen-Romon will appear at next week's screening as part of this season's Port Jefferson Documentary Series.
