McDonald’s McRib resurfaces

The on-again-off-again McDonald’s sandwich with a cult-like following has returned to Long Island and the rest of the country.

The McRib, a sandwich made of boneless barbecue pork ribs, pickles and onions, usually only appears at a few McDonald’s at a time, but the fast-food giant announced on Monday that the sandwich will now be available nationwide through on Nov. 14.

This is a change for McDonald’s franchises, which usually determine alone when to sell the sandwich. Only franchises in Germany constantly have the McRib available.

As a result, news of the sandwich’s return has spread like rapid fire prompting tweets and Facebook groups dedicated to the McRib.

For those wondering about the sandwich’s nutritious value, it has 500 calories and 26 grams of fat. This is slightly less than the Big Mac, which has 540 calories and 29 grams of fat, so it may be worth a try.
