Good news for all the “Little Bows” out there: Melanie Martinez is coming out with new music.
Newsday caught up with Martinez, the 17-year-old singer from Baldwin who made it to the Top 6 during season three of “The Voice, " at New York Fashion Week on Feb. 11. After sitting front-row at Betsey Johnson's showing of her new BJ Kicks A collection, Martinez revealed she has been hitting the recording studio.
“I'm working on an EP that will hopefully be out by summer,“ she told Newsday.
Martinez said she hasn't collaborated with any other artists on the album just yet, but she hopes to in the future.
As for whether she would ever consider competing on another show like “The Voice,“ Martinez said it's not a part of her plan.
“I'm so appreciative of how far I got, but I think it's time to move on from that world and move on with my own music,“ she said.
