Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson are about to get into the Halloween spirit a little early when that classic piece of Stay Puft marshmallow fluff "Ghostbusters" heads back to theaters for its 35th anniversary on Oct. 6 and 10.

Forget the 1989 sequel, not to mention the misguided 2016 remake featuring a female team of ghosbusters led by Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig. The 1984 version is the real deal, and this presentation hosted by Fathom Events will include an introduction featuring cast members who'll share tales among the making of the film and its enduring appeal. To date, the movie has scared up earnings of $242.2 million (just shy of $600 million when adjusted for inflation) , and the theme song by Ray Parker Jr. topped the Billboard chart for three weeks and has become a Halloween music staple.

Screenings will take place at Regal Deer Park 16 and IMAX, 455 Commack Rd. and at AMC Stony Brook 17, 2196 Nesconset Hwy. For show times and ticket prices, don't ask who you gonna call? Instead, go to fathomevents.com.
