"Silver Linings Playbook" Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence, who has played the shape-shifting Marvel Comics mutant Mystique in two X-Men films says next year's "X-Men: Apocalypse" will mark her final time in the role.

MTV News said Monday that at the Manhattan red-carpet premiere Saturday of Lawrence's new film "Serena," the 24-year-old star told the network, "It is my last one, actually." She did not elaborate.

Lawrence, who has two additional Academy Award nominations, for "Winter's Bone" and "American Hustle," played the blue-skinned mutant in "X-Men: First Class" (2011) and "X-Men: Days of Future Past" (2014). Rebecca Romijn had played the role in the original 2000-2006 X-Men trilogy, and in a brief, uncredited cameo in "X-Men: First Class."

"X-Men: Apocalypse" is scheduled for a May 27, 2016, release.

Lawrence has been filming "Joy," about Long Island legend Joy Mangano, the single mom turned multimillionaire inventor. It is the actress' third movie with filmmaker David O. Russell.
