THE MOVIE “Fool Me Once”

THE DEAL Roberts will star in an adaptation of a Harlan Coben novel that arrived in stores just last week, Variety reports. She’ll play Maya, a former special ops pilot whose nanny-cam captures a strange image: her 2-year-old daughter playing with Maya’s recently murdered husband. Roberts is also a producer on the film.

THE MOVIE “Cafe Society”

THE DEAL The latest comedy-drama from the prolific filmmaker will open the Cannes International Film Festival, according to the event’s website. Allen is the only director to open the festival three times; his previous openers were “Hollywood Ending” in 2002 and “Midnight in Paris” in 2011. “Cafe Society” is set in 1930s Hollywood and stars Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg, Steve Carell and Parker Posey. The Cannes festival begins May 11.

THE MOVIE “The Glass Castle”

THE DEAL The actress is in talks to join Brie Larson in an adaptation of Jeanette Walls’ acclaimed memoir, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The book tells the story of Walls’ upbringing in an eccentric, impoverished and abusive family. Watts may play the mother; Woody Harrelson is on board to play the alcoholic father.
