WHO Luke Wilson
THE MOVIE “Legally Blonde 3”
THE DEAL The actor who played Reese Witherspoon’s love interest in the “Legally Blonde” franchise says he’s ready to do a sequel. On CBS’ “The Late Late Show With James Corden” earlier this week, Wilson appeared with Mary Lynn Rajskub, his co-star in “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde,” which was almost universally panned by critics in 2003. “That’s why we need to do ‘Legally Blonde 3’,” Wilson said, “to kind of win everybody back.”
WHO Mila Kunis
THE MOVIE “Bad Moms”
THE DEAL The star of “Jupiter Ascending” is set to appear with Christina Applegate and Kristen Bell in a comedy that was once to star Leslie Mann, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film, previously slated as a Judd Apatow production, centers on three stressed-out mothers who go on a liberating binge of freedom and fun. STX Entertainment has picked up the project — officially untitled — which will be written and directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore (“21 and Over”).
THE MOVIE “Mad Max: Fury Road”
THE DEAL Could George Miller’s apocalyptic car-chase movie become an Oscar contender? Warner Bros. thinks it has a shot. The Warner Awards Office recently sent out a “for your consideration” email to critics and has listed the action-packed movie at its annual award-season website. Positive reviews and a female lead (Charlize Theron) could help the film’s chances. “I don’t even need the voting form,” said director Edgar Wright, a new Oscar voter, in a recent tweet. “Put me down for ‘Fury Road’ in all categories. Even documentary.”
