Natalie Portman is going from the ballet to the bench.

The Syosset native, who won a Best Actress Oscar portraying tortured ballerina Nina in 2010's "Black Swan," will play Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in "On The Basis Of Sex," according to multiple reports.

The script will focus on Ginsburg's fight for equal rights on her way to earning a seat on the nation's highest court, according to deadline.com, which first reported the story.

Ginsburg, 82, joined the high court in 1993, six years before Portman, 33, graduated from Syosset High School.

Portman was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her work in the 2004 flick "Closer."
