WHO Robert Pattinson

THE MOVIE “Good Time”

THE DEAL A new film starring the heartthrob from “Twilight” will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival next week. “Good Time” features Pattinson as Constantine Nikas, a man who delves into a criminal underworld in an effort to get his brother released from jail. The cast also includes Barkhad Abdi (“Captain Phillips”), Jennifer Jason Leigh and Benny Safdie, who directs with his brother, Josh. The film arrives in theaters Aug. 11.

WHO Rosamund Pike

THE MOVIE “Radioactive”

THE DEAL The English actress will play French-Polish scientist Marie Curie in a new film, Variety reports. “Radioactive” will tell the life story of Curie — the first woman to win a Nobel Prize and the first person to win it twice — using a mix of color drawings and short texts. The director is Marjane Satrapi, the Iran-born graphic novelist who helped turn her autobiographical book “Persepolis” into an Oscar-nominated animated feature.

THE MOVIE “Dakota 38”

THE DEAL Silas Hagerty’s documentary focuses on Jim Miller, a Native American spiritual leader who, in the wake of a vivid dream about his ancestors, leads a modern-day horseback ride from Lower Brule, South Dakota to Mankato, Minnesota, where 38 Dakota people were ordered to be hanged by President Abraham Lincoln in 1862. Yet the message of Miller’s ride, he says, is to stop blaming the past for the problems of the present. A screening next week will feature guest speaker John Karhiio Kane, a Native American activist and radio host.

INFO “Dakota 38” screens Wednesday, May 24, at 7:30 p.m. at Cinema Arts Centre, 423 Park Ave., Huntington. Tickets are $16; 631-423-7611,
