THE MOVIE "Powerless"

THE DEAL Filmed in Long Beach immediately after superstorm Sandy, this short documentary gives voice to residents who lived for days without heat, water or electricity while waiting for LIPA to respond. Filmmakers Ramfis Myrthil of Uniondale and Adam Lawrence of East Meadow, whose Garden City production company is called Beast of the East Productions, are hoping the movie will help raise the modest sum of $5,000 to help fund civic projects in Long Beach. You can view it for free at or at the crowd-funding site

THE MOVIE "Stevie Nicks: In Your Dreams"

THE DEAL This documentary, a collaboration about a collaboration, was made by the Fleetwood Mac singer and her longtime friend Dave Stewart (of Eurhythmics) while they worked on her first studio album in 10 years, 2011's "In Your Dreams." Nicks brought the film -- which features co-producer Glen Ballard and drummer Mick Fleetwood, among others -- to last year's Hamptons International Film Festival, but it has otherwise been difficult to find locally. It plays a one-night special engagement next week.

INFO Tuesday at 7:30p.m. at Squire Cinemas, 115 Middle Neck Rd., Great Neck. Advance tickets are $12.50. 516-466-2020;
