'Blade Runner' director to do the same for follow-up Ridley Scott has signed on to direct a follow-up to his 1982 science-fiction landmark, "Blade Runner," Newsday's Rafer Guzmán reports. The director has "not yet revealed" whether the film will be a sequel or a prequel, according to Alcon Entertainment, the Warner Bros.-based company producing the film. There also is no official word on casting. Scott's involvement will come as good news to fans of the 1982 original, which starred Harrison Ford. Though not a hit upon its release, the film is now regarded as a modern masterpiece that has influenced countless sci-fi and dystopian movies.
