"Shutter Island" on top again, "Avatar" sets record

Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese continue to lure moviegoers to "Shutter Island," while James Cameron's "Avatar" became the first movie ever to surpass $700 million domestically.

"Shutter Island" remained the No. 1 film for a second-straight weekend with $22.2 million, raising its 10-day total to $75.1 million, The Associated Press reports.

The Paramount Pictures psychological thriller stars DiCaprio as a U.S. marshal caught in a tangle of delusions and paranoia while investigating the disappearance of a murderess at a remote hospital for the criminally insane.

Cameron's science-fiction blockbuster "Avatar" has now raked in $706.9 million domestically and $2.5 billion worldwide.
