Big news for "Ghostbusters" fans broke via Twitter on Friday when Paul Feig, director of the upcoming reboot, announced that original cast member Sigourney Weaver will join the cast.

Fans will remember Weaver as Dana the Gatekeeper from the 1984 original film and the 1989 sequel.

Feig took to Twitter to announce the casting. "Gang, trying to keep surprises but this is about to leak," he posted, "so I'll tell you myself: the awesome Sigourney Weaver is going to be in our movie!"

Feig posted nothing about Sigourney's role, which remains under wraps.

"Ghostbusters" features Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones in the starring roles, along with Chris Hemsworth, Neil Casey and Andy García. The film is scheduled for release July 15, 2016.
