Marvel Entertainment on Monday unveiled what it called a teaser trailer for “Thor: Ragnarok,” appropriately set to Led Zeppelin’s hard-driving “Immigrant Song,” about Valhalla and “the hammer of the gods.”
In the nearly two-minute trailer for Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe film, the Norse god superhero (Chris Hemsworth) floats in chains in outer space, confronts Asgardian goddess of death Hela (Cate Blanchett), who destroys his vaunted hammer Mjolnir, and finds himself facing off against the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) — leading to a priceless quip. A determined-looking Loki (Tom Hiddleston) flips two knives as he heads into battle. And the warrior Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) drags a captured Thor to the cosmic Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum).
Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba and Karl Urban also star.
This third film in the Thor trilogy is set for release Nov. 3.
