Maybe Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze got tired of singing a lot of words?
DeWyze unfortunately picks “The Boxer,” which he tries to make more important by singing CERTAIN words LOUDER than they should BE and then goes into the “lie la lie” part. It’s kind of lackluster and DeWyze seems even more nervous than usual. The judges tag him on it, with Randy Jackson saying, “Pick it up! Pick it up! Pick it up!”
Bowersox wisely picks “Me and Bobby McGee.” Though it wasn’t quite as magical as the first time she sang it, it’s still quite good – good enough to be released as a single right now.
Round One goes to Bowersox in a landslide.
