Longtime Hot 97 personality Angie Martinez has resigned from her radio gig, announcing the news in an Instagram post Wednesday, reports. Power 105.1 announced Thursday morning on its website that Martinez is joining the NYC hip hop and R&B station for its afternoon drive segment on weekdays from 2-6 p.m.

"This was one of the toughest decisions I've ever had to make but ultimately it is time to move on, to grow and to be challenged in new ways. Saying goodbye is always emotional and bitter sweet but I am extremely excited about the future," Martinez wrote in a caption to her Instagram post.

Martinez, 43, who was known as "The Voice of New York," had been with the station since 1987.
