Aretha, Kings of Leon top Nikon at Jones Beach schedule

Ready for more royals?

The Queen of Soul, the Kings of Leon, and the Rib Rock Festival featuring B.B. King top this year's Nikon at Jones Beach Theater slate of concerts, which also includes the launch of the dance-oriented Identity Festival.

The comeback tour of Aretha Franklin, who has recovered from last year's serious health scare with a new album and a new look after losing 80 pounds, will stop at Jones Beach on July 28.

The Kings of Leon, along with Band of Horses, are set for Aug. 10, while the Rib Rock Festival, featuring B.B. King, Buddy Guy and J. Geils Band, arrives on Aug. 27.

This year's concerts, which kick off June 11 with Daryl Hall and John Oates, is packed with classic rock – including Yes and Styx (July 11), Def Leppard and Heart (July 12), Journey, Foreigner and Night Ranger (Aug. 17), Lynyrd Skynyrd and Doobie Brothers (Aug. 18) and Whitesnake (Aug. 24). And The New York Pops will perform the music of Billy Joel, with “Movin' Out” singer Michael Cavanaugh handling the vocals (Aug. 13).

There's also a lot of dancing on tap with Ke$ha (Aug. 20) and the Identity Festival (Aug. 21), an electronic-leaning festival featuring DJs Pete Tong, Chad Hugo and Crystal Method and performers Kaskade, Nervo and Jessie and The Toy Boys.

Tickets for most shows go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday through Live Nation, 800-745-3000,
