Billy Joel will extend his record-setting monthly residency at Madison Square Garden into a sixth year, setting a show at the arena on Jan. 24.
The Hicksville native already holds The Garden’s records for most appearances and longest run, commemorated by banners in the rafters. The January show marks the 60th show in Joel’s current run and his 106th overall performance at The Garden.
“This is beyond my wildest expectations,” Joel said in July when he was honored for his 100th show at The Garden, shortly before Bruce Springsteen joined him onstage to celebrate.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Oct. 26 through Ticketmaster. Citi cardholders can purchase pre-sale tickets through the Citi Private Pass program starting at 10 a.m. Oct. 22.
“I remember my first show at The Garden, that was a milestone,” Joel told Newsday in July. “If someone would have projected that I would do 100 shows there, I would have laughed at them. I’d say you’re being ridiculous.”
