Before Dispatch headlines its massive shows at Madison Square Garden on July 10 and 11, the roots rockers will play a free invitation-only show at The Space at Westbury on June 30.
The concert, sponsored by Pandora and part of the Lexus Pop-Up Concert Series, is open to fans who RSVP at the event's website on Eventbrite. The surprise show will be the band's first North American concert this year, as Brad Corrigan, Pete Francis and Chad Stokes, continue in the studio working on the follow-up to their 2012 album "Circles Around the Sun."
"It's a dream to know that your music is actually a part of people's experiences and becomes tied to special moments in their life," Corrigan said in a statement about the shows at Madison Square Garden, which the band hopes will put the spotlight on the issue of hunger. "That makes it all worth it. Also, it all just feels fun again. We're so fired up to be great friends and to travel the world and see places we've never been before. I mean, come on. It doesn't get much better than that."
