OK, Foo Fighters fans, the band is looking to the past for a way to combat the future.
With a plan called "Beat the Bots," the Foos will sell tickets to their July 16 show at Citi Field starting at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. Here’s the catch: You have to go to Citi Field to get them.
It’s a throwback to the old days when you actually had to leave your house to get good tickets. "Fans sick of Scalper-BOTS programmed to clog online queues and snatch up huge amounts of tickets to resell them will get first shot at tickets to these shows," the band explained in a statement.
The Foos, who will be supporting their "Sonic Highways" album, are offering the tickets from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a limit of two floor tickets or four seats elsewhere in the stadium. For those who find this too old school, the regular pre-sale begins on Dec. 1, with tickets on sale to the general public starting at 10 a.m. Dec. 5.
Royal Blood is set to open the show.
