GRAMMYS '10: Best Rock Song

With 109 categories in the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, it’s hard for all the categories to get their due. As we count down to Sunday’s ceremonies – when we’ll be blogging here and Tweeting @ndmusic – we’ll take a look at some of the unsung categories.

Category 20 - Best Rock Song

Pearl Jam, “The Fixer” (Monkeywrench)
U2, “I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight” (Interscope)
Green Day, “21 Guns” (Reprise)
Kings of Leon, “Use Somebody” (RCA)
Bruce Springsteen, “Working On A Dream” (Columbia)

SHOULD WIN: “21 Guns.” Green Day’s rousing anti-war protest shows how potent rock can be, even working an effective guitar solo into the ballad.

WILL WIN: “Use Somebody.” The dynamic Kings of Leon song is well-crafted and certainly established their “Southern Rock meets U2" sound in the mainstream.
