Harry Styles apparently likes to plan ahead.
“Harry Styles Live On Tour” doesn’t start until September, due in part to his upcoming acting debut in Christopher Nolan’s World War II epic, “Dunkirk,” but Styles has already extended the tour through July 2018.
Styles, who sold out his Sept. 28 Radio City Music Hall date in minutes, has added a show at Madison Square Garden on June 21, 2018, as part of a lengthy international expansion of his tour to support his rock-driven eponymous solo debut album reached No. 1 in May, aided by the Top 5 single “Sign of the Times.”
Tickets for the Garden show go on sale at 10 a.m. on June 16 through Ticketmaster. Putting tickets on sale more than a year before the event is unusual, but not for Styles and his group, One Direction. In 2012, One Direction put tickets for its Jones Beach Theater show on sale a whopping 14 months before the concert.
In an attempt to sell more tickets to fans instead of ticket brokers, Ticketmaster is using its Verified Fan program, where those who register by 1 a.m. on June 14 get entered into a lottery to possibly purchase pre-sale tickets on June 15. To register in Verified Fan, go to harrystyles.tmverifiedfan.com.
