Lady Gaga canceled her Rock in Rio appearance set for Friday, telling fans on social media that she was in “severe pain” and had been hospitalized.
“Brazil, I’m devastated that I’m not well enough 2 come to Rock In Rio,” the New York native posted on Instagram Thursday afternoon, along with a photo of an IV in her arm. “I would do anything 4 u but I have to take care of my body right now. I ask for your grace and understanding, and promise that I will come back and perform for you soon. I’m so sorry and I love you so much.”
It is not clear whether Gaga’s current ailment is related to the pain from fibromyalgia, which she discloses in her upcoming documentary “Gaga: Five Foot Two,” which debuts on Netflix on Sept. 22. It was “not simply hip pain or wear & tear from tour,” Gaga tweeted Thursday, days after she had told fans she felt she was treating her fibromyalgia wrong. “I’m in severe pain. I’m in good hands w/the very best doctors.”
Gaga had to cancel her concert in Montreal earlier this month after getting sick during her second Citi Field appearance where she performed the entire “Joanne” tour show in a rainstorm.
