The New York Pops moves into its new summer home this week, the historic Forest Hills Stadium in Queens.
Sutton Foster will join the orchestra on Thursday and Pink Martini will join them on Friday. Tickets are $10-$129 through Ticketfly, though adults can get a free ticket for children 16 and under when they purchase a regular-priced ticket.
"It's a dream come true for us," said Mike Luba, the Albertson native whose Madison House Presents brought concerts back to the stadium. "A great orchestra like them should have a summertime home."
The New York Pops calls Carnegie Hall home for most of the year, but during the summer, when many orchestras establish homes in amphitheaters around the country, the Pops were more nomadic. Not any more.
"We are tremendously excited to be embarking on this new venture in such a fantastic, historic venue," the orchestra's executive director Anne M. Swanson said in a statement. "I cannot imagine a more wonderful summer home for The New York Pops."
Steven Reineke, the Pops' music director and conductor, said the orchestra is eager to make new fans.
"I'm beyond delighted that The New York Pops will perform at Forest Hills Stadium this summer," he said. "We're selling out our Carnegie Hall concerts, so I'm thrilled that we'll be able to share our music with a larger audience in such a legendary venue this summer and for many more summers to come."
