Nickelback canceled the rest of its American summer tour, including a stop at Nikon Theater at Jones Beach on Aug. 14, after a cyst was discovered on singer Chad Kroeger's larynx.
Kroeger will undergo surgery in three weeks following vocal rest ordered by doctors. He is expected to make a full recovery before the "How You Remind Me" band starts its European tour in Finland on Sept. 30.
"I am sorry I have to interrupt the party this summer and I am definitely not thrilled with the prospect of being silent for many weeks to come when I could be out there playing for our fans," Kroeger said in a statement. "I am relying on my doctor and his team to help get my voice back in good form as quickly as possible."
