Well, here's a “12-12-12” concert surprise we didn't see coming: Nirvana is expected to reunite for the first time in 18 years with Paul McCartney stepping into the late Kurt Cobain's role.
McCartney told The Sun that lead Foo Fighter and Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl asked him if he wanted to “jam with some mates.” It turns out those mates were Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic and touring guitarist Pat Smear.
“I didn’t really know who they were,” Macca told The Sun. “They are saying how good it is to be back together. I said ‘Whoa? You guys haven’t played together for all that time?' And somebody whispered to me ‘That’s Nirvana. You’re Kurt.’ I couldn’t believe it.”
In other surprises, Roger Waters told Jimmy Fallon last night that Eddie Vedder would join him on “Comfortably Numb.” Waters said his set would also include “Money” and “Us and Them.”
