WHAT String Poet and the Long Island Violin Shop present an evening of verse accompanied by Baroque and classical guitar. George Held, an author and poet nominated five times for the Pushcart Prize, recently had his 15th book, "After Shakespeare: Selected Sonnets," published. Barbara Novack, writer-in-residence at Molloy College, is a regular contributor to the String Poet journal and readings at the Walt Whitman Birthplace. Harris Becker, globe-trotting soloist and chamber musician, performs the world premiere of "Three Moods for Guitar" by Michael Frassetti, among other works. Following the readings, there's an open mic segment for volunteer poets.
