Bon Jovi has tapped Dix Hills native Ryan Star to open a string of dates on the band's arena tour next month.

It's a full-circle moment for Star, who still carries a photo on his iPhone of his band Stage with The Jovi after the teens won a Z100 contest to open Bon Jovi's show at Jones Beach Amphitheater in 1995.

Unfortunately for Star's area fans, the current schedule has the run starting in San Antonio on March 17, after Bon Jovi's Madison Square Garden's Feb. 24-25 and March 5 shows. Will Star get picked up for the tour's next leg, which includes a May 6 stop at Nassau Coliseum? Time will tell.
