Night Two of "The Voice" Battle Rounds confronts one of life's basic questions: Spread out your chores and balance them with fun stuff or pile them together and just plow through one bad day to finish them? "The Voice" producers apparently went for the latter option last night, cobbling together an afterthought of an episode to deal with some of the lesser competitors.

Here’s how the night played out:

TEAM SHAKIRA: Clarissa Serna vs. Jeremy Briggs, “Cold as Ice”

This was ba-ooh-wah-ooh-aah-eee-yeah bad! The Foreigner song is hard to sing, but they were so far over-the-top that it became painful to watch at times. Blake gave the edge to Clarissa, while Usher supported Jeremy. Shakira knew what was wrong, telling Clarissa she was too dramatic and Jeremy that he was offbeat. In the end, she chose Clarissa as the lesser of two evils.

SHAKIRA PICK: Clarissa

SHOULD’VE PICKED: Clarissa

TEAM ADAM: Caleb Elder vs. Delvin Choice, “The Man”

“When we started, it was a disaster,” Adam Levine said, adding that they improved a great deal. But poor Caleb Elder was outclassed on every level of this Aloe Blacc song. Delvin had some issues with the song’s phrasing, but his warm, soulful voice still came through.

ADAM PICK: Delvin

SHOULD’VE PICKED: Delvin

TEAM BLAKE: Megan Ruger vs. Ria Eaton, “My Happy Ending”

The battle-round montages don’t really give us any idea about who should advance and who shouldn’t. They also don’t explain why Blake would think the Avril Lavigne song was worth battling over.

BLAKE PICK: Megan

SHOULD’VE PICKED: ???

TEAM SHAKIRA: Ddendyl vs. Lindsay Pagano, “I Feel the Earth Move”

Another montage song and another confusing song choice.

SHAKIRA PICK: Ddendyl

SHOULD’VE PICKED: ???

TEAM USHER: Brothers Walker vs. Morgan Wallen, “Hey Brother”

This just seems to be a bad idea all the way around, from the Avicii song to the weird pairing. We will never know how bad, though.

USHER PICK: Morgan

SHOULD’VE PICKED: ???

TEAM USHER: Brittnee Camelle vs. Melissa Jimenez, “Give It to Me Right”

The Melanie Fiona song isn’t easy, especially at the end, but Melissa was just a little too much. Neither one really ever seemed comfortable in the performance. Adam gave the edge to Brittnee, while Blake picked Melissa after she hit the big final note.

USHER PICK: Melissa (Brittnee stolen by Adam)

SHOULD’VE PICKED: Brittnee
