International art-house thriller alert! Noomi Rapace, Sweden's original "Dragon Tattoo" girl, is set to star in "Alive Alone," a crime-espionage tale scheduled to begin production in New York City in January, according to

Matthias Schoenaerts, the Belgian hunk who set foreign-film viewers' hearts aflutter in "Rust & Bone," will also star.

The plot focuses on the relationship between a former detainee in Guantánamo Bay and a woman running from a crime boss. Debut director Khurram Longi wrote the script, which landed on both the Black List, an annual compendium of the best unproduced screenplays, and its UK equivalent, the Brit List.

Rapace and Schoenaerts are also set to star in Mikael Roskam’s "Animal Rescue," which stars Tom Hardy as a former criminal who takes in a pit bull connected to a killing.
