OK, so I know with “Pretty Little Liars” I often find myself saying, “I don't know where to begin,” but this week I REALLY mean it.
Wow, just WOW. If this isn't the best, most action packed, revealing episode of the season, then I don't know if my brain can handle what the writers have in store for viewers.
All that aside, I was so hopeful that Spencer's little romantic surprise for her and Toby's anniversary would go well, but alas, I knew better. In fact, I was a bit surprised that she didn't see his Radley ID when she first opened that drawer.
I kind of loved Hanna's little kinky comment to Spencer, “If you really want to surprise Toby, have on 5-inch heels and nothing else when you answer the door.” I mean, you go girl, but I think we all knew that Hanna was the closet sexpot.
Speaking of Hanna... I don't know about the rest of you, but the tag-team combo of Paige and Caleb working against the A-team is like pure genius to me. Somehow I see this venture being extremely successful – like Caleb said, Mona and the rest of the A-team are busy watching the Liars, so why not make it their mission to watch A's brigade?
Ali makes another BIG appearance in this episode during what we presume is Aria's drug induced (thanks, Meredith) coma. She suggests that maybe she isn't dead after all, saying, “Do I look dead?” For me, the jury's still out on the whole is she-isn't she dead, but we shall see.
Meredith was a major player in this episode, and I'll have to admit, I was absolutely, undeniably FREAKING OUT. The crazy train left the station and this week, Meredith was the only one on board.
You know it's bad when a character makes Mona look sane. Seriously.
So to count, Meredith's offenses include: drugging, kidnapping and assault, to name a few. This girl is certifiable, and yet somehow Hanna and Emily thought it a good idea to follow her into a basement where she easily locked them in with an unconscious Aria?
Honestly, it may be unrealistic at this point, but why is it so hard to think that the girls would've just called 9-1-1 when they realized Mer-Mer was taking a role on the Looney Toons cast? I know, logic is just too much to ask with this show.
By far, the biggest scene of the episode comes in the form of a “RevelAtion” – yes, the episode is finally here, Spencer knows Toby's secret.
I'm so happy that Spencer finally knows the truth about Toby, but all things considered, she handled it way more calmly than I think anyone watching would have.
That is until her breakdown, her pathetic breakdown. Sorry, it may seem harsh, but she finds out that her boyfriend is one of the people that have been torturing her and her friends, and one of the strongest characters — in my opinion — crumbled like a whimpering hurt puppy?
Mona takes the stage for the week's A-scene, relaxing with a glass of wine in Toby's loft as Spencer sits outside, sobbing, thinking that Toby's listening to her pleas to take it all back, to say it was not what it seemed.
I can't believe that Spencer is trying to “un-see” what she saw. Honey, give it up... He's part of the A-team. Or is he? As always, only time will tell.
