Kim Kardashian's sex tape may have launched her career, but the same can't exactly be said for her co-star in the film, rapper Ray J.
Possibly in an attempt to capitalize on that home movie years later (or remind us all what Kanye West's baby mama is really famous for, as if we could forget), the rapper released a new single Saturday, "I Hit it First," which all but disses Kardashian by name. However, Ray J denies the song is about her.
"It's a song, it's not about that, it's about a concept," Ray J said Monday in a radio interview with New York's Hot 97. "People going way too deep. They just gotta keep it on the surface. I'm not trying to create no war, it's all love; we're doing music."
Brandy's little brother sings a whole different tune on the track, though, which leads me to believe he's bluffing. Take, for example, these lyrics:
"She might move on to rappers and ball players, but we all know I hit it first
"I hit it, I hit it, I hit it, I hit it, I hit it, I hit it first
"I hit it north, with her [expletive] goin' south, but now baby chose to go west."
Ray J even goes to far as to offer to "make another movie."
If you're going to put out a song like this, you have to own it. The single's artwork is even a pixilated image of Kardashian in a bikini. How much more explicit can you get?
What do you think? Is Ray J's "I Hit if First" about Kim Kardashian? Listen to the song (it's actually pretty catchy) and vote in the poll below.
