Cruz, Penn among Oscar presenters
The first round of Oscar presenters has been announced: Three of the performers who won Oscars in the acting categories last year will return to present, including Penélope Cruz, Kate Winslet and Sean Penn, ET Online reports. Cruz took home the supporting actress Oscar for her role in "Vicky Cristina Barcelona," Penn took best actor for "Milk," while Winslet took home the award for best actress for "The Reader."
Hopper gets court order against wife
Dennis Hopper's wife has agreed to stay 10 feet away from the ailing actor and not contact him directly as they wrangle through their divorce, court records filed yesterday show. The agreement came after the "Easy Rider" actor requested an emergency restraining order prohibiting contact with his wife of nearly 14 years. His petition claimed his wife, Victoria, has engaged in "outrageous conduct" in the past year and was accompanied by a doctor's declaration that his treatment for prostate cancer required him to eliminate unnecessary stress, The Associated Press reports.
Push to make White 'SNL' host
More than 188,000 people on Facebook are urging "Saturday Night Live" to make Betty White a host. The campaign has been gaining followers and attention, just as the 88-year-old actress has become more ubiquitous. She was given a lifetime achievement award at the Screen Actors Guild Awards and starred in a Super Bowl commercial for Snickers that has ranked as one of the game's most popular, The Associated Press reports. The Facebook page, which isn't affiliated with White, says she would be a "fantastic" host and that it would be a terrific way to honor her. Representatives for White said she had no comment. NBC is also not commenting.
