THE PLAY "The Winslow Boy"

THE DEAL The Roundabout's long-planned revival of "The Philadelphia Story," which was expected to play the American Airlines Theatre in the fall, has been postponed and replaced by the Terence Rattigan drama "The Winslow Boy," which will star Roger Rees and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio (Aldonza in the 2002 Broadway revival of "Man of La Mancha"). The Roundabout recently staged Rattigan's "Man and Boy," with Frank Langella and Adam Driver.

THE PLAY "Julius Caesar"

THE DEAL The Donmar Warehouse's all-female staging of Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar," recently a big hit in London directed by Phyllida Lloyd ("Mamma Mia!"), will play St. Ann's Warehouse in DUMBO beginning in October. This comes right off the heels of the Royal Shakespeare Company's all-black production of the play set in modern Africa, which played Brooklyn Academy of Music last month to great acclaim.

WHO Jake Gyllenhaal and Chris Pine

THE PLAY "Into the Woods"

THE DEAL Can Jake Gyllenhaal sing? According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gyllenhaal and Chris Pine are slated to join the cast of the upcoming film of "Into the Woods." It is assumed that they would play Cinderella and Rapunzel's self-loving princes.

WHO Carrie Underwood

THE PLAY "The Sound of Music"

THE DEAL Even with the demise of "Smash," it appears that NBC still has a fond spot for Broadway. It was confirmed last week that the previously announced live broadcast of a new production of "The Sound of Music" starring Carrie Underwood will be broadcast Dec. 5. No word yet on the other cast members or whether it will be filmed at a Broadway theater in front of an audience.
