Shia LaBeouf quits 'Orphans' over creative differences

Creative differences are blamed for the departure of Shia LaBeouf from the upcoming Broadway revival of "Orphans," also starring Alec Baldwin and Tom Sturridge, Newsday's Linda Winer reports. LaBeouf ("Transformers") was to have made his Broadway debut playing the older of two orphan brothers living in a rundown Philadelphia house in Lyle Kessler's 1983 drama. They kidnap a rich older man (Baldwin) who turns the tables on their power play. The play ran Off-Broadway in 1985 in a Steppenwolf Theatre production directed by Gary Sinise. Previews are still set to begin March 19, with an April 7 opening. No replacement for LaBeouf has been announced.
