"Happy Endings" -- ABC's good and still extremely underviewed sticom -- will move from Tuesdays to Friday nights starting March 29, where it will air as back-to-back episodes at 8.
Yes, this is a good news/bad news scenario: The good is that it was not canceled, but will instead take over “Last Man Standing” and “Malibu Country"'s time periods after they've completed their season run. The bad may outweigh the good. “Endings” will sit on the shelf for nearly a month -- "Celebrity Wife Swap” takes over 8 p.m. Tuesdays starting Feb. 26 ("The Taste” goes to 9 p.m.).
Also, Fridays at 8 is nothing like the old TGIF ABC Friday at 8; this is a tough night for every network, except CBS, and gaining traction here after struggling to gain traction on Tuesdays is an even harder chore. But with increased visibility and (maybe) more network promotion, “Happy Endings” could still get a happy ending when the new fall schedule is announced in May.
